Earth System Modelling
Serving as a bridge between theoretical understanding of the climate system and the observational record, Earth System Models play a key role in much of the research taking place at IMAU.
While all of the research groups consider modelling efforts, the Earth System Modelling group focusses on the use of complex climate model simulations.
More specifically, simulations with the Community Earth System Model (CESM) play a central role in both individual and collaborative projects. The seminar series “ESM for lunch” aims to build up a knowledge base of practical matters for IMAU researchers working with ESMs.
