IMAU's 60th Anniversary

In 1966 a group of enthusiastic pioneers founded the Institute for Meteorology and Oceanography Utrecht (IMOU). Twenty-five years later, in 1991, its name changed to Institute for Marine and Atmospheric research Utrecht (IMAU). And this year, 2026, marks six decades of stimulating education and scientific research of the oceans, atmosphere and cryosphere at IMAU.

We cordially invite (former) IMAU employees, guests working at IMAU, second year students Climate Physics, and relations of the institute, to celebrate this milestone together on Wednesday September 23rd, 2026.

The celebrations will take place at De Landgoederij, Bunnik. Below you will find more information about the invited speakers, programme and registration.
