Atmospheric Dynamics

Our research focuses on various aspects of atmospheric dynamics. A variety of approaches and tools are used, ranging from relatively simple conceptual models of interacting components of the climate system, via sophisticated evaluation of state-of-the-art climate models to developments of new modules or projections of these models. A major portion of the work can be separated into two main themes: (a) climate at the land surface, and (b) the interaction between dynamics, radiation and the energy transformations that are associated with the hydrological cycle.

The work on the state-of-the-art climate models is part of the efforts in Earth System Modelling at IMAU, where we aim to improve our understanding of the interactions between the different components of our climate.
