Gravitational Constant Network

St. Andrews Bonn Gravitational Constant Network

When did Newton's Constant appear in the literature? A reasonable guess would be the end of the 17th century, when Newtonian Gravity was developed. Surprisingly, it did not appear until the second half of the 19th century. This is the starting point of the St. Andrews & Bonn Gravitational Constant Network, which traces the conceptual history of Newton's Constant and connects this to its modern philosophical interpretations.
