  Severin Uebbing - group, PhD leader

  Severin started as a group leader in 2023. He did his PhD at Uppsala Universitet and a postdoc at Yale University in the lab of Jim Noonan. He is fascinated by the diversity of life and studies the role of gene regulation in the evolution of mammals.

  Xue Bao, PhD - technician

  Xue started as a technician in Genome Biology & Epigenetics in 2022, after receiving a PhD in chemistry from UU. Since 2023 she works with Severin on generating iPS cells from diverse mammals, and on perturbing enhancers in mammalian cell models.

  Alexandra Bosch - PhD student

  Alexandra completed both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Biomedical Sciences at Maastricht University and joined the lab in 2025. In her project, she investigates functional consequences of sequence evolution in gene regulatory elements across different groups of mammals.
