Young Future Food Movement
In 2024, the Future Food Utrecht (FFU) board identified the need to empower and engage students in transforming the food system and enhancing community well-being at UU. This realization led to the creation of the Young Future Food Movement (YFFM)
As a movement, we recognize that many of the problems we face stem from a disconnection – whether that is between students, academics, farmers, or our common land – and this results in sick soil and lonely people. So, to mend this situation and to work towards systemic yet practical change, our movement is all about fostering stronger connections. Our initial plans include opening a community kitchen living lab on campus, setting up excursions to local food forests, and establishing a neighborhood-scale composting system right here on campus! And that’s just the beginning.
