Communication Skills Academy

The Communication Skills Academy (Coska), based at the Freudenthal Institute, was founded in 2021 out of a desire of the Graduate School of Natural Sciences (GSNS) and the Graduate School of Life Sciences (GSLS) to improve and expand education in all essential communication skills. We aim to develop and teach courses in, for example, academic writing, presenting, and illustrating, following the latest didactic principles and newest techniques, and geared specifically towards the natural and life sciences. Our main target group are master and PhD students at both graduate schools, and we are also exploring several initiatives at the bachelor and professional level.

The course was extremely beneficial. I have received feedback on my writing multiple times, but I never had a concrete understanding of what is correct and what is expected. This course provided me with a clear set of rules, methods and resources that guide me through the writing process, thus making it more enjoyable.

Several courses are already open for registration. More will follow!
