The Freudenthal Institute can be found on the 3rd floor of the Buys Ballot building, Princetonplein 5 at Utrecht Science Park / De Uithof in Utrecht, and can be accessed via the adjacent Koningsberger Building (Budapestlaan 4a-b) or the Minnaert Building.

Located right next to the Buys Ballot building is the Hans Freudenthal building. Please note: the Freudenthal Institute is not located in the Hans Freudenthal building.

How to reach the BBG

By public transport: take the train to Utrecht Central Station and from there, take a local bus from the bus station:

  • Bus #12 and12s, get off at: Padualaan
  • Bus #28, get off at: Botanical Gardens (Botanische Tuinen)

Buses from other locations than Utrecht Central Station going to the Uithof:

  • Bus #30, 31 and 32, get off at: Botanical Gardens (Botanische Tuinen)

The BBG can be reached by car via the A28. Take exit 2 De Uithof, turn left on Universiteitsweg, follow the road (bend to the right, bend to the left) and turn right to the Leuvenlaan. The BBG is behind the red Minnaert building on your right, after the Botanical Gardens.

In the direct vicinity of the BBG, a limited number of guests and visitors can park for a fee on Budapestlaan or Leuvenlaan. The first 30 minutes are free, thereafter from Monday to Friday between 7 a.m. and 6 p.m. a rate of € 0.50 per 33 minutes applies, with a daily maximum of € 7.00. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays, the rate is € 1, regardless of the length of stay. If necessary, inquire in advance with your contact at the Freudenthal Institute whether you can get an exit ticket.

You can park in the P + R Transferium Utrecht Science Park / De Uithof for € 5 per day. Other parking areas are only accessible to employees with a pass. We therefore advise you to come by public transport or by bicycle.
