Video impression of Corette Wierenga

Corette Wierenga conducts research on the connections between neurons in the brain for the strategic research theme of Dynamics of Youth at Utrecht University.

These connections allow us to learn and form an identity. The human brain is a dynamic organ: connections between the neurons are mainly formed during childhood, but our brains are constantly changing, and we continue to establish new connections into old age.

Neuron connections change every time you learn something.
