Improving the effectiveness of a school-based prosocial behavior intervention for primary school students

Identifying for whom the program works best

We aim to improve the effectiveness of Meaningful Roles, a school-based prosocial behavior intervention for primary school students, grounded in basic psychological needs theory.

This project examines for whom and under what circumstances the programme fosters resilience in vulnerable groups. Such insights are often missing from traditional intervention studies but are essential for understanding how and why interventions work differently across groups and contexts.

Researchers involved

Amanda van Loon and Tessa Kaufman, assistant professors in Clinical Child & Family Studies and Youth & Family, together with a student assistant (open vacancy) and the intervention developer (KiVa B.V.).

Funding

This interdisciplinary project has been funded through the Resilience Funding Call of Thriving and Healthy Youth.
