Utrecht University collaborations
Utrecht University collaborates with various Dutch knowledge institutions and societal partners in multiple projects related to data science and artificial intelligence. Below, you will find a (non-exhaustive) list of these collaborations.
AlgoSoc
The Algorithmic Society (AlgoSoc) is a research collaboration between five universities and funded by a NWO Gravitation grant. The project investigates how we can safeguard public values and human rights within the development of automated and semi-automated processes, including Artificial Intelligence.
CropXR
CropXR is a Dutch foundation of Dutch plant biology, agriculture sciences, and plant breeding, that adds a layer of experimental research, AI and computational modelling. The foundation is a collaboration of Utrecht University, Wageningen University & Research, TU Delft, University of Amsterdam and Plantum, and several companies.
ESDiT
The Ethics of Socially Disruptive Technologies (ESDiT) research programme is a consortium of seven universities, funded by the NWO Gravitation programme, that is set up to develop a comprehensive philosophical understanding of the socially disruptive technologies (SDTs) of the 21st century.
EWUU Alliance
The EUWW Alliance, formed by Eindhoven University of Technology, Wageningen University & Research, Utrecht University, and University Medical Centre Utrecht, combines expertise in energy, sustainability, health and food to drive societal transitions.
Health-RI
Health-RI, funded by the Nationaal Groeifonds, is a public-private partnership of several Dutch research organisations involved in health research and care. Health-RI stands for 'Health research infrastructure' and offers a clear vision and roadmap to establish a single interconnected national infrastructure for personalized medicine and health research.
HUMAN-AI
HUMAN autonomy perspective of Artificial Intelligence (HUMAN-AI) is a multidisciplinary research and education programme that explores the human perspective on AI. It is a collaboration between Utrecht University, Eindhoven University of Technology, and the University Medical Center Utrecht.
Hybrid Intelligence
The Hybrid Intelligence Centre, funded by a NWO Gravitation grant, is a collaboration of top AI researchers of VU Amsterdam, University of Amsterdam, TU Delft, and the Universities of Groningen, Leiden, and Utrecht and has the goal to design hybrid intelligent systems, an approach to AI that puts humans at the centre.
ROBUST
The ROBUST programme, funded by NWO and initiated by ICAI, is a human-centered research program in AI with 51 partners from industry, government and knowledge institutes. It consists of various projects that use AI as key technology in the development of sustainable solutions for socially relevant issues, particularly in health, logistics, media, food, and energy.
SSHOC-NL
The Social Sciences and Humanities Open Cloud (SSHOC) for the Netherlands is a project, funded by NWO, to enable researchers in social sciences and humanities to securely and ethically link and analyse a huge volume of data.
