The Earth is facing human-induced global environmental changes, such as disruption of the carbon, water and nutrient cycles, climate warming, land use intensification, biodiversity loss. We study the interactions between such changes and ecosystem processes, for sustainability of ecosystem services to humans, including fresh water, food and energy. We link human impacts, governance processes and environmental changes across scales.
