Re-Ge-NL: Towards profitable regenerative farming
The project seeks to transform the Dutch agricultural system by helping 1,000 farms transition towards a regenerative business model. The project also aims to develop a suitable business model, create blueprints for farmers and value chain actors, establish 5 regenerative farming regions across the country, and train 10,000 farm advisors and coaches in regenerative farming.
Regenerative agriculture combines food production with nature restoration while preventing soil depletion, contributing to environmental improvement and a sustainable future for Dutch farms.
This project collaborates with a thousand farmers across the country to prove that this transition is possible. The program brings together five key initiatives: designing farm systems and business models that can grow at scale, creating actionable transition pathways, measuring and evaluating regenerative practices, building education and training programs for farmers; and developing tools, products, and services that will support farmers. By combining these approaches, Re-Ge-NL aims to create the right conditions for Dutch farmers to adopt regenerative methods while maintaining viable agricultural businesses.
This project is funded by the National Growth Fund, the Government of the Netherlands along with a broad consortium of civil society and private sector partners.
