Our programmes
We run two interdisciplinary Bachelor's and five specialised Master's programmes. For students from other Bachelor's programmes who are interested in sustainability issues, we offer several minor programmes (in Dutch). With about 1800 students in total, we are making a strong contribution to educating the next generation of change agents.
Bachelor’s programmes
In the Global Sustainability Science programme you learn how to develop solutions to sustainability issues. This involves studying the interaction between humans and nature at the local, regional and global level. The programme will equip you to make a meaningful contribution to our planet.

In the Natuurwetenschap en Innovatiemanagement programme succesful development and application of innovations are key. You will be challenged to bridge the gap between the technological possibilities and the societal achievements in the area of sustainable energy, transport and life sciences.

As part of this two-year Master’s programme in Sustainable Business and Innovation, you will learn about sustainability challenges and the technological and other options that businesses can use to work in a more environmentally and socially friendly manner. This two-year Master’s programme is aimed at students who want to contribute to the design of the solutions needed to achieve an environmentally and socially accountable society. Creating a culture of innovation is one of society’s greatest challenges. Innovation creates new opportunities that lead to sustainable economic growth and can help tackle serious societal problems such as climate change or pandemics.
In the Innovation Sciences programme you will learn how to transform new ideas into marketable innovations and to manage and promote innovation processes within companies as well as in society at large. Furthermore, you will learn about the role of companies and other knowledge-producing organisations in the wider innovation system.

The two-year Master’s programme in Water Management for Climate Adaptation will give you an in-depth understanding of modern water management techniques and water policies from a sustainable development perspective. You will gain an understanding of water’s role with regard to humanity and nature as well as the societal impact of interventions in the water cycle.
