Extra episode 7: Efficiency
In this episode, Dr. Tessa Diphoorn and Dr. Brianne McGonigle-Leyh are joined by Dr. Matteo Gazzani, (Thermodynamics) an Associate Professor in the group of Energy & Recourses of the Copernicus Institute of Sustainable Development, and Dr. Coco Kanters, (Economic Anthropology) a program director at the interdisciplinary undergraduate program Liberal Arts and Sciences at Utrecht University, to discuss the concept of ‘Efficiency’.
How do they define the concept of ‘efficiency’ and how do they use in their own research? What types of efficiency are there? What does it mean when we say something is efficient and why do things need to be efficient? Is efficiency always good? And how do we measure efficiency within academia?
