Collaborating with international universities is fundamental to providing excellent teaching and research. Utrecht University collaborates with renowned universities around the world. Additional funding is available to support new initiatives in collaboration with the Utrecht University Partners (UUPs), the university wide strategic partner universities and clearly linked to one of the strategic themes or research focus areas of Utrecht University).

Visiting Fellowships

Utrecht University will co-fund visiting fellowships in the 2015-2016 academic year. The main purpose of the visiting fellowship is to participate in, explore and set up new (external funded) joint activities in education and teaching (e.g. structured mobility, e-learning activities, joint summer schools, Erasmus+ projects)

Intensive Workshops

Utrecht University will co-fund joint scientific workshops in the 2015-2016 academic year. An intensive workshop is an expert meeting of scientific leaders to strengthen existing or initiate new collaborations between international partners (at least one Utrecht University Partner). An intensive workshop is an expert meeting of academic leaders to strengthen existing or initiate new collaborations between international partners (at least one UUP). The main purpose of the workshop should be to explore and set up new (external funded) cooperation projects in research (e.g. Horizon 2020 projects) and/or education (e.g. structured mobility, e-learning activities,  joint summer schools, Erasmus+ projects) clearly linked to one of the strategic themes or research focus areas of Utrecht University.

Short Stay PhD Fellowships

The purpose of this Short Stay PhD Fellowship programme is to tighten links and strengthen cooperation between research groups at UU and at UUP’s. This might not only effect collaboration in the specific research field of the PhD candidate. It also intends to enhance knowledge and interest in the research that is being carried out in Utrecht and at the UUP’s, and exploration of new options for collaboration.
