Science for Life

The Bijvoet Centre is part of the Science for Life initiative of the Faculty of Science and Utrecht Life Sciences. Through this initiative, we have strong ties to the Institute of Environmental Biology, the Institute of Biodynamics and Biocomplexity, and the Utrecht Institute of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the the Faculty of Science, but also to research groups at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, the University Medical Centre Utrecht and the Hubrecht Institute.

Together, we aim to understand how life and its components work. Focus areas include molecular and cellular biology, pharmaceutical science and plant biology. Using highly advanced technologies, such as NMR spectroscopy, bioinformatics and nanotechnology, we’re finding solutions for health and environmental challenges.
