From idea to animal testing

If you are a researcher and wish to apply for an animal experiment, you must be trained for this purpose and affiliated with an institution that is licensed to conduct experiments on animals. You must complete a number of steps to submit your application. The AWB provides support and advice in this process.

Assessment

The AWB assesses all research involving animals to determine whether the proposed experiment falls under the definition of the Wod (Animal Experiments Act). They advise the researcher throughout the process, from applying for a project permit to conducting and registering the animal experiments. Even if the research does not constitute animal experimentation within the meaning of the Act, the AWB advises the researcher on the best way to carry it out.

Changes in your research?

Are there any changes to your research? If so, request an amendment from the AWB. All the steps you need to take to apply for and evaluate your research, as well as the forms you need, can be found here.
