Computational Geometry

The field of Virtual Worlds is as broad as the real world; if not broader, since the entertainment industry has shown through movies and games that it's limited by our imagination rather than by the world around us. The field ranges from realistic real-world simulation to the creation of new believable fictional worlds, from the animation of single characters to the dynamics of large crowds, from the interaction with shapes in the virtual world to object manipulation of robotics in the real world.

Our group is interested in all of these themes, and more. We emphasize scientifically rigorous research with either solid experiments or proofs of properties of models or methods, or both. Our research consists of developing new algorithms, models, animation techniques, and their comparison with the state-of-the-art.

As a group, we are always interested in research collaborations on all themes within virtual worlds; both with research institutes as well as companies. Please contact us if you want to discuss opportunities for collaboration.
