AI & Media (AI & Government) An interactive session organized by the AI & Media Lab and the Utrecht Data School. Join a discussion on AI & Media. In an expert panel with Antal van den Bosch, Bruce Mutsvairo, Cyril Snijders and José van Dijck, we will discuss topics such as AI in society, AI & journalism, the role of media and tech platforms, AI in the local and global context, and the role of disciplines and collaboration in AI research. You will have the chance to ask your burning questions to the experts. |
Adopting AI in healthcare: working with language models (AI & Health) |
Health Data Space Utrecht (AI & Health) This workshop provides an introduction to the Health Data Space Utrecht, a regional data infrastructure that collects health data and connects it to national and international research platforms. This infrastructure enables researchers to use high-quality data for research into health and healthcare. Clear communication between government and citizens (AI & Government) Three government organisations will present how they use AI to make their communication with citizens clearer and more inclusive. Following this, there will be an interactive panel discussion where thought-provoking statements about government-citizen communication will be debated, facilitated by Antal van den Bosch. |
Privacy tool for organisations (AI & Government) The use of personal data by government organizations receives a lot of public and political attention. How and why data is processed needs to be carefully considered, substantiated, and documented in line with GDPR requirements. Researcher Friso van Dijk from the AI Lab for Public Services developed a privacy tool for organisations, providing a practical guide to ensure the careful handling of personal data at an early stage in the development of ICT products and services. |
Health Labs UMCU: from research to impact (AI & Health) This session highlights groundbreaking research projects from UMC Utrecht's five AI Labs: the AI Lab for Healthy Living & Prevention, AI Lab for Imaging and Image-Guided Interventions, AI Lab for Living Technologies, AI Lab for Molecular Medicine, and the AI Methods Lab. Software to gain trust in AI: ASReview (AI in practice) In this interactive session, we explore the importance of open-source software in building trust in AI-supported systems, demonstrating how collaboration is key to making the next big step in creating reliable AI tools. The session includes two panel discussions with experts from societal and industrial partners of the DISC-AI Lab, using ASReview as a case study to investigate how open-source solutions can tackle challenges related to the growing body of scientific literature.
