ROBUST RAIL Lab
Robust planning for making a train schedule
The Netherlands has one of the busiest rail networks in Europe. As a result, it is becoming increasingly difficult to create high-quality schedules. In this research, we aim to explore how AI can assist in developing a robust schedule, so that disruptions on the rail network can be better managed.
How to align railway network and service location planning?
This project focuses on how AI can help find the minimum adjustment to the network plan (rides and equipment) to allow parking in the shunting yards.
Understanding decision-making and human-AI collaboration by railway planners
This project investigates how humans make decisions when interacting with AI systems.
