Projects
The AI & Mobility Lab focuses on developing advanced AI methodologies to optimize logistics processes, including refining train schedules, improving goods transport, and creating personalized online services. The lab also conducts research on decision-support systems for policymaking in mobility and transport, and actively contributes to constructing intelligent infrastructure for traffic monitoring and control.
The RAIL Lab, a dedicated entity within the AI & Mobility Lab, plays a crucial role in the ROBUST program, a consortium of 54 partners working to advance robust AI in dimensions such as accuracy, reliability, repeatability, resilience, and safety, with partial funding from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO).
RAIL Lab
The RAIL Lab is an ICAI research lab dedicated to developing AI technology to increase the overall logistic rail capacity. The lab works towards algorithmic support to ensure safe and reliable logistic operations and capacity planning that is trusted by human experts. RAIL Lab is a collaboration between Utrecht University, Delft University of Technology, Dutch Railways and ProRail.
AI & Mobility projects
The Utrecht AI & Mobility Lab collaborates with a variety of organisations on the development of innovative AI techniques to help resolve the challenges facing mobility and public transport. The lab focuses on various mobility domains such as public transportation, intelligent infrastructure, and mobility behaviour of the public.
