The Academy Building
The Academy Building on Domplein is the ceremonial heart and face of Utrecht University. This is where students graduate, promotions and inaugural lectures take place. It is a house for debate, lecture and conference. The Academy Building played a key role in the history of the Dutch state and Utrecht University. Its significance and architecture attracts between one hundred and two hundred thousand visitors every year.

Public transport
Nearest bus stop: Domplein (smaller bus, not wheelchair friendly) or Janskerkhof (wheelchair friendly). Plan your route by public transport via 9292.
Parking
The nearest parking garage is Parkeergarage Springweg (paid), about a ten-minute walk from the Academy Building. From the highway, follow the signs Centrum and then P Springweg (navigation: Strosteeg). In the parking garage, choose the Oudegracht exit.
Wheelchair friendly
The academy Building is a monumental building. The main entrance has heavy doors. If you have difficulty opening the door, please ring the bell. We are happy to assist you to enter. The rooms in the Academy Building are wheelchair accessible. There is a lift and a wheelchair-accessible toilet on the ground floor.
