Special ‘text + kritik’ on Robert Menasse

An issue of text + kritik, Zeitschrift für Literatur, was published under the guesteditorship of Ewout van der Knaap, Professor of German-Language-Literature and Culture. The entire issue is dedicated to the work of Robert Menasse.

Among other things, the author was awarded the 2017 German Book Prize for 'Die Hauptstadt', a novel that has been translated into more than 25 languages. Menasse's work has also been translated into English, including 'The Capital' (2019).

Scholars from Belgium, Germany, France, Hungary, Austria and Poland participated in the journal issue. Van der Knaap himself wrote an article on Die Hauptstadt and compiled the vita and a bibliography. Menasse also contributed to the issue.

On 18 May, the issue will be presented during a podium discussion at the University of Vienna, in which Robert Menasse, Eva Schörkhuber and Daniela Strigl will participate, as well as Ewout van der Knaap.
