The Immunology section, faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University Utrecht invites applications for a (senior) Post-Doc position. The candidate is expected to set up his/her own line of research addressing fundamental questions in (veterinary) Immunology, participate in ongoing research as well as to take part in the academic teaching duties of the section. To attract external funding is an important aspect of the function.
The Immunology group focusses on fundamental and applied research with emphasis on all aspects of vaccination, innovative approaches in immuno-modulation, especially in chronic inflammatory diseases and basic research on mechanisms of cellular immunity to intracellular pathogens and infection in many different species.
Candidates should have a PhD degree and a strong background in vaccinology and/or immunology, preferably with veterinary affinity. The candidate should have documented success in research endorsed by publications on relevant topics and proven skills in fundraising is a pre.
We offer a temporary position (1.0 FTE), initially for a period of one year. The gross monthly salary depends on experience and qualifications, and ranges from a minimum of € 2,790 to a maximum of € 4,274 (i.e. salary scale 10/11 according to the Collective Labour Agreement for Dutch Universities) on a fulltime basis. Salaries are supplemented with a holiday allowance of 8% and a year-end bonus of 8,3%.
