EDI Sounding Board

EDI stands for Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. We want to make everyone feel welcome and valued at Utrecht University. We believe that diversity of students and employees enriches the academic debate and that everyone deserves equal opportunities.

What we do

The EDI Sounding Board is made up of a dedicated team of faculty, staff, and students at Utrecht Law School committed to making our law school a place where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute. We operate as an advisory body to the Law School’s Board and collaborate closely with the faculty's EDI Committee and other university-wide groups.

We work with these principles

  • Equality – Striving to removing systemic barriers and ensure everyone has equal opportunities to participate and thrive within our community
  • Diversity – recognizing, respecting, and valuing the wide range of our characteristics, backgrounds, and experiences that enrich our community
  • Inclusion – creating an environment where our institution’s systems and practices make room for everyone, and everyone is empowered to contribute fully to our community

The EDI Sounding Board is here to listen to all voices and perspectives

Wat we don't do

While we are deeply committed to addressing EDI concerns, it is important to clarify that we do not handle individual cases or provide direct referrals. However, every concern shared with us is taken seriously and contributes to identifying overarching trends and areas for improvement.
