USG lustrum: 25 Years

The Utrecht University School of Governance (USG) will be celebrating its 25th anniversary in 2025 and we are going to celebrate this momentous anniversary with a series of activities. The theme for this special year is: Travelling with USG (in Dutch: ‘Reizen met USBO’).

This can be about the journeys in (personal) life and work of our students and staff for whom USG was the start, or an intermediate station, on the way to the next destination. In any case, it is also about the history and development of USG itself. We look back at how it started 25 years ago and how we have grown. But we also look to the future. Where do we come from and... Where are we going?

We will travel through time and space, in and around the beautiful building at Bijlhouwerstraat 6 in Utrecht (Netherlands). We will do this together with everyone who is, or has been, involved with us: current staff and students, former staff and alumni, and of course our social partners and relations inside and outside the university with whom we will continue to collaborate into the future.

On the Dutch spoken side of this webpage, you will find an overview of activities that we will be organizing in our festive anniversary year 2025. Each event contains a short description, including the target group for the activity. Please note: sometimes you will be asked to sign up via an online form.

What are we going to do? Among other things, we will organize a conference on education, an event with social partners, but also a dance party and a storytelling evening. The USG film series Science & Fiction is in line with the theme, and the week of 22 September 2025 will be a week full of celebration. You can soon read more about it on the webpage in Dutch.
