The Johanna Westerdijkkamer is located on the ground floor of the University Hall. It is possible to rent this room for bigger groups and has multiple possible seating layouts.
Seating layout and capacity
- The standard layout of the Johanna Westerdijkkamer is a reception layout, it has room for 60 people.
- A dinner layout has room for 32 people, a theater layout has room for 40 people and a meeting layout has room for 20 people.
- Other layout options are available in consultation.

Costs
The hourly rate is € 135 and the half-day rate is€ 400,-
The booking costs are exempt from taxes.
Booking costs include a movable LCD display with desktop (in consultation) and WiFi. Sound system and equipment can be rented for a fee of 80 euros per reservation. There is an additional fee for costs being made in the weekends, this includes security, cleaning services and emergency response services.

History
Johanna Westerdijk (1883-1961) was the first female professor in the Netherlands. On February 10, 1917, she was appointed endowed professor at Utrecht University. In 1930, she was appointed endowed professor for a second time, this time at the University of Amsterdam. Westerdijk was a professor of plant pathology (phytopathology). Since her appointment as professor in 1917, Westerdijk has been a strong advocate for female students. February 10, 2017, marks the centenary of Johanna Westerdijk’s inaugural lecture. This is being celebrated by various organizations.
