The Opzoomerkamer is located on the 1st floor of the University Hall. It is possible to rent this room for a group of max. 20 people and only has one possible seating layout.

The standard layout for the Opzoomerkamer is a carré layout. It has room for a maximum of 20 people and has no other possible seating layout.

The hourly rate is € 104,-, and the half-day rate is € 312,-
The booking costs are exempt from taxes.

Booking costs include a movable LCD display with desktop (in consultation) and WiFi. There is an additional fee for costs being made in the weekends, this includes security, cleaning services and emergency response services.

The Opzoomerkamer is located at the 1st floor and is accessible through the main stairs or by elevator. The elevator has a dimension of 90 x 130 cm.

History

Cornelis W. Opzoomer (1821-1892) was professor of philosophy from 1846 until 1889. He was also an influential jurist and translator. Opzoomer was one of the first advocates in the Netherlands of the empirical, positivist approach to scientific truth. He explicitly addressed the core questions of science. He also translated several literary works into Dutch. He was the first professor to break with the centuries-old tradition of delivering his inaugural lecture in Latin and was the first to deliver it in Dutch
