The Utrecht Centre for Affordable Biotherapeutics (“UCAB”) is a collaboration between Utrecht University and the World Health Organization. UCAB is a non-profit foundation that facilitates the development and sustainable production of high quality and affordable biotherapeutics for patients in low- and middle-income countries (LMICs)

The mission of UCAB is to improve global health by enabling the sustainable production of high quality and affordable biotherapeutics that are accessible to patients in low-and middle-income countries (LMICs). UCAB focusses on the development of biotherapeutics with the greatest impact on public health in LMICs, which are preferably included in the Essential Medicines List (EML) or the Neglected Tropical Disease (NTD) portfolio of the World Health Organization.
