Volunteer Opportunities

One of the most valuable ways that alumni can be involved with UCU is through volunteering. Volunteers help us shape and sustain our educational programme and community.

As a volunteer, you’ll engage fellow graduates, build community, help expand the opportunities for professional development, connect with current students and make it possible for University College Utrecht to continue to thrive. Browse our list of opportunities below or reach out for more ways to get involved with UCU.

After learning about our opportunitites, sign up to be an alumni volunteer with UCU.

Class Agent

Class agents are the personal contact between the College and their classmates. They are a key driver of alumni participation. They are a conduit for news and information, and have an incredible impact on our ongoing success. Class agents are essential; there are only a select number of alumni who engage in this critical work. The primary tasks include getting your classmates excited about UCU and asking for support in annual fundraising efforts for the UCU Fund.

Class Correspondent

Class correspondents are volunteers who act as a communications liaisons between UCU and their classmates. Correspondents are responsible for collecting class notes to be published in newsletters or other publications. Correspondents' contact information will be published on our website so that their classmates can send personal and professional updates.

Homecoming Volunteer

The goal of a homecoming committee and volunteers is to promote class-wide enthusiasm for your homecoming, help plan the homecoming activities, and encourage both homecoming attendance and participation in a class gift.

Recruitment Volunteer

Alumni are valuable in recruiting UCU’s future students. As an alumni recruitment volunteer you can be involved in our recruiting efforts in a number ways including participating in Open Days, representing UCU at school presentations and study fairs, and sharing reflections on your UCU experience.

Futures Centre and Alumni Internship Programme (AIP)

Alumni are encouraged to collaborate with the Futures Centre and AIP to provide professional development, mentoring and internship opportunities to UCU graduates.

Chapter Ambassador

Looking to find UCU alumni in your area? Would you like to plan an event for nearby graduates?

Chapters are geographically-based alumni communities that connect alumni around the world to each other and to UCU through local programming, communications, and other opportunities. Every chapter is different, depending on the size of your region, the number of volunteers, and the characteristics of your local community. Chapter ambassadors communicate with alumni in their area, help plan events, recruit volunteers and serve as the primary liaison with the UCU Alumni Office.
