Lustrum 2023

In 2023 we are happy to mark the 25th anniversary of University College Utrecht, and celebrate the first 25 years of liberal arts and sciences in the Netherlands. We are excited to welcome our staff and students, alumni, wider Utrecht University family and the local Utrecht community to take part in this celebration, which along with the Alumni Homecoming weekend will be held between 8 and 11 June 2023.

In 2023 we are celebrating the 25th anniversary of University College Utrecht, with our 5th Lustrum and Alumni Homecoming weekend. University College Utrecht was established as the first university college in the Netherlands, according to pioneering work of our founding dean Hans Adriaansens, who envisioned a vibrant academic environment where students were free to follow their academic interests in any direction and learning did not only take place in the classroom, but students lived and learned together. 25 years on we are proud to look back on the achievements resulting from this vision, and have adopted the celebration of 25 years of liberal arts and sciences in Utrecht as the theme for our Lustrum and will be focusing presentations and symposia on the contributions that liberal arts and sciences have made to the Dutch society.

The Lustrum and Homecoming will take place from 8-11 June 2023. We are very excited to welcome you to our campus, live and in person, after 3 years of not being able to host any events. The multi-day programme will have a wide variety of events and activities to celebrate the first 25 years of liberal arts and sciences in the Netherlands, such as symposia, sports, class reunions and a lot of time for networking as well as creating new memories. We look forward to welcoming all of our staff, students, alumni and their families, as well as our counterparts at UU, partners and the local community.
