UCU alumni play a vital part in the most important events and activities on and off campus. They are invaluable when it comes to informing and inspiring current students about life after UCU. If you feel like giving something back and get active for UCU, read more about the possibilities here.
We are regularly looking for alumni who can help us at events such as the UCU Open Days, the Career Conference, or the organisation of alumni events. Also, UCU alumni play an important role in informing prospective students about UCU’s education at school visits and presentations in the Netherlands and abroad, and digitally through social media. Calls for such occasions are generally announced via the UCU Alumni Platform on LinkedIn, the UCU Community on Facebook or in our newsletter. Do you wish to be involved in a different way? Always feel free to contact us and discuss the possibilities!
Students can benefit immensely from opportunities to interact and connect with young and more senior UCU alumni. The UCU Futures Centre, the UCSA Acquisition Committee and UCU’s Alumni and Development Officer collaborate closely in order to match alumni with students in the most effective way. There are many ways in which you can inspire and motivate current UCU students:
- Host a visit to your workplace by a small group of UCU students
- Visit UCU and talk about your pathway since graduating
- Give students insight into life after UCU through a snapshot of your (working) day
- Offer students working experience by hosting a UCU intern in the Alumni Internship Programme (AIP)
If you would like to be involved, please let us know in what way you would like to support our students.
Do you have a wonderful idea for an activity that can bring UCU students and alumni together? Then we would like to hear from you!
UCU strives to enhance interaction between alumni and students. Therefore, we have allocated a budget to supporting new and innovative alumni initiatives that are aimed at bringing students and alumni together. Funding requests for co-financing of new alumni initiatives can be submitted by all members of the UCU community (students, alumni, staff and teachers). Only requests for co-financing will be considered (meaning other resources must be available for funding the event) and the requested amount must not exceed €500.
For a full list of criteria for co-financing requests of alumni initiatives, and the application form, please contact the Alumni and Development Officer.
