The impact of AI on close protection and surveillance
The Close Protection and Surveillance system is responsible for protecting individuals who are threatened by state actors, organised crime, fixated individuals or terrorism. In recent years, the number of individuals requiring protection has increased significantly, significantly increasing the burden on the system. Artificial Intelligence (AI) could potentially make certain tasks more efficient and effective, such as threat analyses and assessments. At the same time, the use of AI raises fundamental questions. Based on interviews and an expert meeting, this project examined the opportunities and challenges associated with implementing AI tools from a social science perspective.
