Research on reputation systems
Online interactions often require trust. You're unlikely to buy an expensive item online if you don't have any information about the seller. When choosing a restaurant, online information can help you find your preferred spot. Whether reputation systems work well for making these kinds of choices is a topic of our research. Questions range from how to design such a reputation system, what the potential negative effects are, and how strong the reputational effects are when we combine multiple studies. This research theme is a specification of the more general topic of how social networks can foster trust and cooperation, the overall theme of this research line.
