About Safe & Sound
On 7 May 2025, TivoliVredenburg will transform into the place where social safety is key. The Safe & Sound Festival is for all students in Utrecht who want to discover what social safety means and how you can contribute to it yourself.
Social safety = you and me
Do not expect dusty lectures, but thought-provoking talks, interactive workshops and sharp discussions that will give you the tools to go through your student life more conscious, confident and inclusive. The programme is diverse and partly in English so that everyone can participate. Themes such as sexually transgressive behaviour, microaggressions and the influence of alcohol and drugs will be discussed by experts and experts by experience.

Social safety is important to the university
Utrecht University believes it is important that students have an enjoyable and safe study time, where they can be themselves both at university and outside. The Safe & Sound Festival has a diverse programme and is a safe place to discuss important topics. The festival also marks the start of Wellbeing Week(s), which focuses on social safety, mental health and personal boundaries.
