At this moment Utrecht University is realizing several new building- and transforming projects:
Construction projects Utrecht Science Park
The David de Wied building will be the high-end meeting place where research meets: the Electron Microscopy Centre (EM) as a facility for the Faculties of Science, Geosciences, Veterinary Medicine and the UMCU.
Leuvenplein will be completely refurbished. The paving will be renewed, there will be more bicycle parking spaces and the sewer will be replaced. This will improve the quality of life and sustainability. In the new situation, the square will function for all logistics. Moreover, it will also be a comfortable environment for users.
The new office building for Geosciences connects to the entrance area of Utrecht Castel. The building accommodates a restaurant and bicycle parking facilities, which will be shared with TNO and Deltares, as well as one floor of office space that can be developed in the future.
Robert van der Graaff laboratory is stripped and now being transformed into the Earth Simulation Lab (ESL). The aim is that the Faculty of Geosciences can use ESL mid 2018.
