Alle Scholen Verzamelen!
The Alle Scholen Verzamelen program is organized annually by all Science Nodes in the Netherlands. It is a citizen science project specifically aimed at children. This means that university researchers enlist the help of children from all over the country to solve a research question together. Students in groups 5, 6, 7 and 8 from all over the Netherlands collect data together for real scientific research.
The project will only be a success if as many children as possible participate. Because the more children from all over the country collect data, the easier it is to collect a huge amount of information that can be representative for the Netherlands. So with the results the children collect, they contribute an indispensable piece to scientific research. And all those pupils then become a real researcher for a short while!

We take as many pupils as possible on a Schoolyard Safari. Pupils go outside to investigate the biodiversity in their own schoolyard. They also interview their classmates about how connected they feel to nature. In half a school day, they develop an inquiring attitude, learn about biodiversity, and collect data for real scientific research.
