Joseph van der Valk

Student Ambassador, Faculty of Law, Economics, and Governance. 2024-2025

Hi, I’m Joseph, a second-year student of Economics and Business Economics at the Faculty of Economics, Law, and Governance. Entrepreneurship, to me, is all about bridging the gap between economic theory and real-world application. It has taught me how to be resourceful, make the most of limited resources, and create a meaningful impact.

I became a Playground student ambassador because of the amazing people I met when I first joined. I truly believe Playground is a space where ideas come to life and goals turn into reality. Being part of this community puts opportunities within reach, and I love being in an environment that constantly inspires me.

Right now, I’m working on a website idea with two friends from Enactus’ Dare to Lead Society. Our goal is to create a platform that fosters social connections and helps combat loneliness in the Netherlands. It’s an exciting challenge, and I’m looking forward to seeing how it develops.

My advice? Just go for it. Try a few workshops, sign up for a project—it won’t hurt to give it a shot. You might surprise yourself with what you can achieve.
