Doctoral Advisory Board
The Doctoral Advisory Board (DAB) brings together those responsible for the PhD journey at all Graduate Schools of Utrecht University . This can be the vice dean or the director of the Graduate School.
The goal of the DAB is to strengthen the PhD-phase at Utrecht University. To do so, DAB-members exchange information and develop joint initiatives to further improve the PhD-trajectory. They collect input both at the UU central policy level and within the Graduate Schools and PhD communities.
Based on this input and after discussion, the DAB advises the Rector Magnificus, the Executive Board (CvB) and the Board for the Conferral of Doctoral Degrees (CvP). In turn, the Rector Magnificus, CvB or CvP can ask the DAB for advice on specific PhD-topics or issues. Thus, the DAB functions as an advisory board with broad insight into what is going on in the Doctoral Phase, among PhD candidates and their supervisors. The DAB also functions as a sounding board for PhD policymakers, and as a liaison for PhD representatives.
The Doctoral Advisory Board is chaired by prof. dr. Ted (T.J.M.) Sanders, Vice-Rector for Research. For inquiries, please contact the secretary Gerjanne Heek via g.a.heek@uu.nl.
