Use of data for Educational Innovation

Gebruik van data voor onderwijsinnovatie

The research area of use of data for educational innovation focuses on using data about learners and their contexts to understand and optimize learning and the environments in which it occurs.

With the emergence of new technologies, educational institutions nowadays have huge amounts of data at their disposal, resulting in an increased interest in learning analytics approaches from educational researchers. Despite the opportunities this emerging field of research entails and the available expertise, large-scale adoption of use of data or learning analytics to improve (innovation in) teaching and learning is often lacking.

In our research, we study methods to analyze educational data as well as implications and opportunities for educational practice.
