25% of the university's CO2-emissions comes from transportation. This consists of air travel, delivery trucks and commutes to work by car. Luckily a lot of our students and staff take the bike to university. Cycling is very popular in the Netherlands and quality infrastructure makes it a fast and convenient way to travel. It is the perfect green mode of transport as it cuts carbon emissions to zero. The Mobility Committee of Green Office Utrecht is working on different ways to promote environmentally friendly transport modes between students and staff. Not only cycling, but also public transport and carpooling.
