Utrecht University believes that it is important that you - as an employee - enjoy your work and continue to develop and grow. On the intranet you can find the Development Guide (intranet) which lists the possibilities (courses, workshops & training) Utrecht University has to offer you for your professional and personal development.
Career Services of Utrecht University offers a range of workshops for PhD candidates. These focus mostly on Personal Effectiveness, Communication & Collaboration, Career Orientation and Well-being at work. Find and register to those workshops through the website of Career Services.
The University Library offers various training courses on topics ranging from Writing Reproducible Code to a workshop on Google Scholar. View the complete training offer here.
Language courses
Dutch Language courses for internationals
Dutch language courses for international UU employees (thus including PhD students) are provided by Lest Best and offered by the HR department free of charge. These are beginners courses tailored to the academic work environment. Register for these courses through the development guide on the intranet and contact the HR department with any question.
Institute Babel
The language institute Babel is a partner of Utrecht University and employees receive a discount on open enrolment courses.
