AI & Animal Welfare Lab
In the AI & Animal Welfare Lab, academic experts and key stakeholders from business, government and civil society work together to make full use of the potential of AI to improve animals' lives in practice.

Air View Car
Since 2019, we have been mapping air quality in European cities using our Air View cars. Our electric cars are available to cities, companies, and research institutions. With guidance from our experts, they can map air quality in detail and work on applications that promote healthy urban living.

Biofabrication Facility Utrecht
The Biofabrication Facility provides in-house collaborative research support to a wide range of technologies and training. The available equipment is divided into two segments of use cases: prototyping and bioprinting.

Biomolecular Interaction Facility
We offer label-free measurement of biomolecular interactions using Biolayer Interferometry and Isothermal Titration Calorimetry.

Centre for Cell Imaging (CCI)
A multi-user facility offering advanced microscopic techniques to scientists.

Centre for Sustainable Animal Stewardship (CenSAS)
Strives to encourage a sustainable and responsible relationship between humans and animals.

Centre of Excellence for Plastination and Virtual Reality
A joint initiative of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and UMC Utrecht. We develop models for training in clinical skills and in a wide range of procedures in humans and animals.

Data and Knowledge Hub Healthy Urban Living
The hub is an independent and open public-private platform. Together with residents and partners we develop scientific and data-driven concepts and measures: evidence-based products and services that have a positive effect on the health of everyone who lives, works or recreates in an urban environment. Now and in the future.

Dutch Molecular Pathology Centre
We offer advanced and qualified molecular and pathological analysis of rodents and zebrafish for research of academic and industrial parties.

Dutch Wildlife Health Centre
Enhance knowledge and expertise in wildlife health in the Netherlands. We provide scientifically based information for political and practical decisions concerning public health, wild and domestic animal health, and nature conservation issues.

Exposome-Scan
In 2024, Exposome-Scan was launched: a large-scale and unique research facility that enables researchers from across the Netherlands to study the exposome. Exposome-Scan is led by Utrecht professor Roel Vermeulen and Leiden professor Thomas Hankemeier. Funding is provided by NWO.

Flow Cytometry and Cell Sorting
We offer state of the art flow cytometry for analysis and purification of cells and cell organelles from a wide variety of species.

Lipidomics Centre
We offer novel lipidomic technologies for detailed analysis and global characterisation of the structure and function of lipids within a living system.

Netherlands Centre for One Health (NCOH)
Aims for an integrated One Health approach to tackle the global risk of infectious diseases. NCOH commits to create durable solutions for this major challenge by bundling world-leading academic top research in the Netherlands in the area of One Health.

Single Cell Analysis Centre
We offer a unique and state-of-the-art research facility to measure gene expression profiles and perform genetic analysis in single cells.

Sperm analysis and reproduction on a chip
The facility offers an advanced sperm quality analysis for obtaining more insight in potentially underlying factors of unexplained sub- or infertility. The same facility houses 3D printing, microfluidic, and cell culture techniques to resemble the essential morphological and physiological functionalities of an oviduct or uterus in a simplified and miniaturised on-chip format.

Veterinary Microbiology Diagnostic Centre
The VMDC is your partner for microbiological diagnostics and treatment. We investigate materials obtained from animals for the presence of infectious agents or the specific antigens that fight them.

WHO Collaborating Centre for Campylobacter
Collaborating centre for reference and research on Campylobacter and antimicrobial resistance from a One Health-perspective.
