Farm Animal Health
Our mission is to improve the health of farm animals. We do this from the perspective of socially responsible and sustainable livestock farming, in which animal health, animal welfare, food production and social expectations are considered in an integrated way. Our three research groups address this challenge from complementary angles, combining expertise in farm animal health, quantitative methods to study disease dynamics and impact, and a strong commitment to sustainable livestock farming.
- The Veterinary Epidemiology group studies how diseases affect animal populations and develops data-driven solutions to improve the health of farm animals
- The Sustainable Ruminant Health group is dedicated to improving the health of ruminants, both preventively and curatively, at the level of individual animals as well as the herd
- The Sustainable Poultry Health group has years of expertise in fundamental and applied poultry health, thereby contributing to the further development of an innovative poultry sector
Together, we generate insights and practical tools that advance sustainable livestock farming and support veterinarians, policymakers, and society at large.
