Animals in Science and Society
The Animal in Science and Society section is part of the Population Health Sciences department within the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Mission
We contribute to the understanding and improvement of animal welfare. Our vision is a world where animals are respected and where every animal is able and is given the opportunity to achieve a positive state of welfare.
How do we do this?
We do this by promoting high-quality research, education, patient care and societal involvement aimed at animal welfare and a sustainable and responsible relationship between humans and animals. We base this on the position of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine with regard to animal welfare.
We inspire each other to get the best out of ourselves. We do this by providing a safe working environment where we can learn and where we can take research, education, patient care and social impact to a higher level than the sum of its parts.
