The Division of Cell Biology, Metabolism & Cancer (CMC) is a section within the Biomolecular Health Sciences department of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine.
Mission
The Division of Cell Biology, Metabolism & Cancer (CMC) aims to increase and disseminate knowledge about molecular communication within and between animal cells and organs. We use this knowledge to develop more effective treatments for cancer and degenerative diseases.
How do we do this?
Our division brings together the expertise of specialists in:
metabolism,
cell division,
regulation of gene expression,
and intercellular communication.
For our analyses of patient material and (advanced) cell culture models, we mainly use mass spectrometry and advanced fluorescence microscopy, flow cytometry, and state-of-the-art nucleic acid analysis techniques.
