Research

Our research has been rated as excellent on two consecutive occasions by an international committee during the national research inspection carried out by the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences (KNAW). We apply various research methods, including large-scale surveys and experiments (including in our own laboratory environment).

The research programme consists of five lines of research:

Teaching

Our graduates have an understanding of the scientific background to sociology and can apply this in responsible sociological research in various relevant themes. The teaching is small-scale and makes use of modern educational insights and facilities. Partly because of our active study society Usocia, there is lively contact between students and lecturers. Our lecturers include leading researchers and inspirational guest lecturers from the Netherlands and abroad.
