The department of Experimental Psychology focuses its research and teaching on exploring human cognition and emotion. This happens at three levels: the fundamental, the neurobiological and the applied level.

The department of Experimental Psychology's key areas of research are perception, attention, memory and social/affective processes. The department combines a strong fundamental approach with a unique clinical patient-oriented strategy. Our research was recently enhanced with the addition of developmental and comparative lines of research.
The department of Experimental psychology provides teaching in various Bachelor's and Master's programmes within and outside of the faculty of Social and Behavioural Sciences. The teaching focuses on perception and cognition, neuropsychology and cognitive and social neurosciences. The teaching is characterised by a strong focus on experimental methods and techniques.
