One drop of water exists of an entire physicochemical environment that organisms must make a living in and inevitably modify.
What we do
We are measuring the concentration of dissolved substances and properties of environmental water samples using different laboratory and analytical techniques such as chromatography, photometry and titration. The samples that we can analyze can be freshwater from rivers or lakes, groundwater, seawater or interstitial water extracted from the pore space in sediments. Besides standard measurements, we can facilitate customized analytical solutions.
We can measure the (dissolved) concentrations of:
- Total Carbon (TC)
- Non-Purgeable Organic Carbon (NPOC) / Dissolved Organic Carbon (DOC)
- Dissolved Inorganic Carbon (DIC)
- Dissolved anions
- Ammonia (NH4+), NOx (NO2– and NO3–)
- Alkalinity
- Iron (Fe2+, Fe3+)
- Silica (SiO2)
- Sulfide (S2-)
